This is such a well-organized event, and it was clear that the kids were there, in numbers, having a great time. If the students are there, the parents follow! My observation is that parents have the power, so I am sure your board and administration pay a lot of attention to your successful events.
I believe that the impact of booster groups is far more than just the donations collected, your activities help to promote the program for years after your own children graduate. I know that from my own children’s school district, Mendota Heights-West Saint Paul – parents and community members did a lot of work 8-10 years ago when the program was being cut – and the good results are finally being realized. In that case, I wish that all the parents who were so involved then could see the success that’s finally being achieved.
